The Gallery of Technological wonders Integrated communication system (ISDN) In 1984, Siemens introduced the private communication system known as Hicom. This system met the emerging world standard for ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network), and was the first system to integrate all forms of communication in one network on one line and under one phone number.
