1 January 1899 is the date of the establishment of the Italian company, Siemens per Impianti Elettrici Anonima - Milan - Via Giulini, 8 - capital 300,000 Italian Lire with 100,000 Lire of fully paid capital.
Founders and members of the Board of Directors: Prof E. Budde (chairman), Dr. A. Berliner (vice chairman), Sig. R. Maaß (councelor), Ing. A. Rubini (director). Sig. A. Titacchini is nominated managing director.
The offices of Rome, Bologna and Turin are opened.
Activities: management of electrical companies, including those of Alessandria, Pisa, Perugia, Livorno; individual and urban telephone installations in cities such as Venice, Fermo, Cittadella, Este; single-phase locomotive testing on the Lecco - Colico - Sondrio lines.
The Italian electricity company, Siemens - Schuckert, is set up in Milan.
