Production of Simatic PLC programmable controls is started at Cavenago Brianza.
7 November 1985: Siemens Elettra changes the company name back to Siemens SpA. Company turnover is approximately 700 billion lire and records an income of over 6 billion lire.
GTE Italiana is purchased and takes the name of Siemens Telecomunicazioni.
Ventec is set up, later to take the name of Siemens Automotive, at San Piero a Grado (Pisa). It is the first small seed of the large state-of-the-art factory of the current sector "Tecnica dell'Auto".
Siemens SpA exceeds a prophetic turnover threshold of 1000 billion Lire.
